You’ve Been Boo’ed

Booing1

We went out on an adventure tonight booing our neighbors and friends. We made a change to the pinterest idea and handed them their boo bags. I don’t want to teach Ian to ring the doorbell and run. He had so much fun doing it, hopefully next year we can include Ollie.

I hope to make this a tradition for years to come. It made Ian happy and showed him it is fun do things for others.

Summer is here!

Summer is here, which means lots of fun in the sun. Lucky for us we live less the 5 minutes from Lake Lewisville and a “beach”. This was the second trip so far, the first was fun for Ian but Ollie in the other hand was not a fan. He hated everything, I hope it grows on him.

Another Check On The List

SoccerSpring12/1

I can now call my self a Soccer Mom, no the minivan is not next. I just can’t go that far.   Ian has completed his firs season of Ankle biters soccer, I love the name of his age group.  We had lots of ups and downs, some games he didn’t even play. He was there just preferred sitting on the sidelines.

SpringSoccer2

I think we all learned something this spring season. Ian got exposed to kids his own age, even if he waasn’t always happy to be there. We learned that he plays better if I am not there.

His coach said that they will be coaching again in the fall and we can request them if we choose. I think we will, they were great with the kids.

Ian got his first trophy and he loves it. So my sports mom days are here, I know that it will a new adventure from here.

When I had no other option.

Ian woke up acting as if he was still tired and after a few hours of meltdowns, no listening, and tears. Someone on twitter recommend taking a walk. So off we went. It was meant to be a short jaunt to the park not a 1/4 mile from our house. After we started I couldn’t think of stop that soon. We went to the park about a mile from our house.

We didn’t plan to go that far, I was wearing flip flops and all we have is a sit and stand stroller but it was nice and we all came back in a better mood.

With my best dude.

Last week I was at my wits end with Ian, I desperately needed to reconnect with him. I can imagine he needed it to by his actions. Well Saturday mornign rolled around and my mom called. She wanted to take Ian and I to the lego discovery center, well that idea didn’t pan out when we realized that it is best to buy tickets in advance. So instead we went to the first circle of Hell (aka Chuck E Cheese).
Wack a mole.

Where he played everything from whack a mole to skee ball and everything in between. After a bout an hour he realized there was food to be had. Luckily he was okay with going to eat somewhere else, I think all the noise and excitement was getting to be a bit much at that point. After a brief pit stop and with fuller bellies. My Mama had the bright idea to stop at Bass Pro Shop and wonder about. Believe it or not I am pretty sure it was a bigger hit the Chuck E Cheese.

I don’t have a picture of him fishing but they had a fishing display set up for small children, and he figured that out super fast. His reaction to all the boats was pretty priceless, he said “Big Boats, Yay.”
GEDC0598
He wasn’t so sure about this fake shark.

I think the best part was when he say all the boats and turned to my Mama saying “I buy a boat, okay Mimi.” Thanks to my Mama, he now keeps telling me about the big snake. They have a rattlesnake display in the store, and boy do I hate snakes. So between hearing about fishes, snakes, and big boats; I don’t think this is a day he will soon to forget.

Toddler Thief-Update

Last week I mention that our house has been taken over by a thief. Well the next morning he came up to me while I was sitting on the couch and hands me my glasses back. I guess he thought mama might need these. Still no luck with the wedding ring, which I know for sure he took. I know it is my fault he got a hold of it. Casey is quiet upset at me for losing it, well I then kindly remind him he permanently lost his once will walking FootFoot. Yes he lost his wedding band after we had only been married around 3 months and we have never replaced it, the ring isn’t as important as the words we said to each other. You might also recall that I blamed the thief of stilling my camera, well it was found shoved way in the couch cushions. It could have been him or it could have been me editing pictures on the couch and then it falling in the cushions. So I need to start looking around before I automatically blame Ian. Though 75% of the time if I asking where something is he brings it to me, so what do you think?

Don’t miss any of my adventures of being a Grown up?

Mommy’s Break

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Thursday was spent in bed mostly, watching Season One of Castle. I did get up and shower to go to Lauren’s family’s Thanksgiving. As soon as I got home from dinner I climb right back into bed, until I was so hungry I needed to hunt for food. While I was out scavenging for food, I decided to wander through CVS. Why you may ask I have no idea, but I did come out with a couple of magazines. I haven’t felt the feeling of what to do in such along time. I love the feeling of no obligations, I was supposed to be finishing unpacking and cleaning like crazy which I will do in a panicked rush now. Since I spent the day watching the Scream Trilogy, I love those movies.

So now that it is after midnight and my boys will be home in about 12 hours I am going to rush off to clean some. I am so glad that I decided to stay home at let the boys spend Thanksgiving with out me, it has made all the Dark and Twisty, all but disappeared . Lesson learned don’t let those feelings go so far next time, ask for alone time before reaching the point of no return.

Momma Escapes

I was lucky enough, that Casey was willing to watch Ian so that I could attend an Office Max “Day Made Better Event”, hosted by: June Cleaver Nirvana and Tip Junkie.  Office Max is trying to end Teacher Funded Classrooms, it is said that teachers spend $1200 out of pocket on average, to supply there classroom. It was a fun event with a lot of fun ladies, and lots of mischief. It was fun to meet some new bloggers, talk about all the different things we blog about.  The photos of us having fun.

After the event I met up my friend Kari, who I don’t see often enough. We went to the dollar movies, were we saw The Proposal. Betty White made the movie, I forgot how funny she is. It was a nice night out sans baby and husband, I need to remember to have a little me time every once in a while.

What’s in your make up bag?

I have been wearing make up since jr. high, back then it was clear mascara and Dr. Pepper Lip Smackers. If you asked me back then I thought I was hot stuff with that combo, I wore those by choice not by parental demands. My freshman year my mom actual refused to buy me clear mascara anymore, so then we went through the long and tedious process of finding a mascara. It took me two years and a numerous amount of my parents money, to find the right one. I have two mascara’s that I love one that cost to much for to have very often, they are Lancome’s Definicils and Maybelline’s Lash Discovery.  Foundation was even worse then mascara I still haven’t found one that I am in love with, for daily use I use Clinque moisture sheer tint, if I am going out I use Maybelline mineral power. I tried Bare Essentials and liked, it I just can’t afford it that is what lead me to Maybelline’s mineral power. I need to find a new eyeliner, for the longest time I used Mary Kay’s eyeliners but I moved and I don’t have a sales rep. anymore. So if you have in recommendations for good eyeliner please pass it on.  I found my perfect lipstick when it came in a free gift my sophomore year of college Clinque’s Pink Beach. I will wear it and then add lip gloss if I want to give it some upmh. Then I use lip gloss through out the day I have tried quite a few and I haven’t found one that I am in love with. And I am going to let you in on a little secret I rarely buy my everyday eye shawdows, most of them are the free gift with purchase. I love the colors most of the time I wear cream colored, brown and pinks. I am not afraid to take risks with my eye color, I have black, turquise and purple in my makeup bag right now. Now I have told you about my make up bag so what else can I do but show it to you. Also if you have any recs please feel free leave them in the comments.
