I was given the chance to review a Rockin’ Baby Sling, as a mother who has been babywearing for just a short while I was so excited, I didn’t have a ring sling. Everything I had read said ring slings are a must have in your babywearing stash. The day it arrived I tore in to the box; I couldn’t wait to try it out. The packaging was attractive, the only thing that I wish could be different it that the sling would come already threaded. That is the only thing that I would change. I mean there is a learning curve to all new slings, carriers, etc. It took me about three days to finally get comfortable getting it on an adjusted, though once I figured it out I loved it. The ease of it is amazing, as I had only ever used a pouch sling before. There are so many things I love about the Rockin’ Baby Sling.
• The Pattern and Colors, which are exclusive to Rockin’ Baby Slings
• It is reversible and has a pocket (on both sides of the tail)
• That they are made in America (Los Angeles to be specific), Rockin Baby slings does this so that they can see all the products before they ship them out
• They also donate 2% of all online sales to charities
• They Double Seam each Sling or Pouch with 40lb pound strength thread
• Your Sling or Pouch comes pre-washed in natural salt water to help soften the fabric and set in the color.

The awesome ladies of Rockin Baby Slings have been awesome enough to give me the chance to offer one of my Rockin Readers a Rockin Baby Ring Sling. How do you enter to win you ask, well the Mandatory entry is to go to Rockin’ Baby Sling and tell me something about the company or slings I didn’t mention above.

International Babywearing Week 2009

I am going to start this post out with a little secret when I was pregnant with Ian, I said that I would not wear my children, boy have I ate those words. I am so sad that I didn’t start wearing Ian till he was almost 3 months old.  I can’t believe that I missed out on wearing my first baby as a newborn.  Lesson learned we hardly go a day with out him being worn for at least a few minutes even if it is just so we can take FootFoot for a walk.  Wearing my baby makes getting things done around here so much easier (except when he tries to “help” me fold laundry).

As you have gathered I do wear my son, so I am going to tell what carriers we use, Ergo, Ellaroo Mei Hip Carrier (this was the first carrier that I had that caused us to fall in love with baby wearing), and a Peanut Shell.
Do you know the benefits of wearing your baby?  Do you know there are many different types of carriers that you can use to wear your baby? You can find answers to these questions and more at Babywearing International.

Now the question is do you wear your baby?
Wear can find some babywearing themed contest this week :
If you know of more please add them to the comments so I can add them to the list.

Men Babywearing

I wanted to thank my wonderful friend Gabe. Every time I feeling a little blue he is the first friend to show up and try to help me get things done. Today when trying to help me get my dishes done Ian woke up from his nap and I was in the middle of a task I could not stop so he picked him and started wearing him so he could finish the task at hand. This is not the first time he has done this. The other day I had to run to the store while he was over and when I came back he was walking foot while wearing Ian. I don’t think I could have gotten any luckier when it comes to friends.

Word less Wednesday

Us on a walk on the prettiest day so far, it was cool, breezy, and sunny. The carrier am wearing is a Ellaroo Mei Hip Carrier. I am love with it. It goes around my hip and buckles or tie. The strap that goes around. Your shoulder spreads out across everything to distribute the weight evenly. I walked over a mile today and never once did it hurt to carry my 17 lbs baby.
