Cloth done our way

My diaper stash, I have been cloth diapering for about 2 months. I love it, the only thing that I would change is that I would have bought more then 4 diaper covers. My stash right now consits of 24 prefolds, 2 fleece fitteds, and 4 Thirsties Duo Snap Covers. Oh and a Rumparooz G1 one size aplix in fire engine.  I don’t understand why anyone who stays home who has the means to wash diapers, doesn’t cloth diaper. It saves money, it is better for the environment, and it is better for babies skin.

In the beginning we had the hardest time trying to figure out a way to cloth diaper at night. It took about 6 weeks to finally find something that worked for us. We use a fleece fitted stuffed with the doubler it came with and a prefold folded up inside of the diaper(not stuffed in the diaper) then a cover on top of that. This works great as long as he doesn’t sleep more then about 8 1/2 to 9 hours then it starts to leak. During the day we use just prefolds and covers and love it. We can’t go over about 3 hours but that is ok. Now the Rumparoozs was a gift and I can’t stand it every time we have used it leaks after just having it on a few minutes. Ian is not a heavy wetter but it just doesn’t work for us.

So for  what we have we make it work and love doing. The laundry is bad I actually like washing cloth diapers. I have a since of pride of a job well done when I take them down of the line. So if you are thinking about doing cloth go for it.

Cloth diapering worked well for us too. I used the bumGenius. I just couldn't get into using the prefolds and covers. I tried them, but liked the bumGenius more.
